How to Reprogram Your Mind to Achieve Success

By Amry Deen

To plan for a success is to identify and define the following aspects of your life.

1. Your origin

In order to know your origin i.e. who you are, you need to study your beliefs, principles, values, your good and not-so-good traits, skills, knowledge, strengths, and weaknesses. For example, are you a generous person or a highly motivated kind of person.

2. Your destination

You have to have vision to reach your destination. This vision is actually who you want to be and what you want to change about yourself such as your habits or attitudes. When you have defined these things then only you'll have a clearer idea of what your destination is. For example, your destination is to be a lawyer so that you can help other people in dealing with their legal problems.

3. Your vehicle

To reach at your destination you need a vehicle. This is actually your mission. The more you know about yourself the easier for you to carry out your mission. For example, you can become a professional such as a lawyer or an architect in order to be able to give services to people.

4. Your tools

You need tools to execute your mission. In life, your tools are good attitudes, skills and knowledge. They will help you in implementing your mission competently. For example, you need to gain certain skills and knowledge in order to become a lawyer or an architect.

5. Your route and landmarks

To ensure you reach at your destination you need to know that you are on the right track or the correct route. You'll also need to look for landmarks that will guide you to the exact spot. In life, your landmarks are your achievements such as getting a degree in law or architecture. Thus you need to have one landmark at a time so that you can pursue it successfully in a certain period of time. You cannot pursue both the degree in law and the degree in architecture at the same time. You need to do it one after the other.

6. Your turns, detours and potholes

These are your hurdles. Avoid them so that you can focus. You need to focus on what you are doing so that you'll not lose your way. Avoid making any decisions that will get you out of focus. On your road to success you need to take the correct turns, follow the correct detours and avoid any potholes. In other words, you need to manage your life accordingly in order to achieve success.

How Improving Your Creativity Improves Your Problem-Solving Skills

How Improving Your Creativity Improves Your Problem-Solving Skills
By Amry Deen

Many a time we are stuck and lost when facing a hard to solve problem. We had finished trying every possible option there is and yet we failed. And we thought that there are no more solutions to it as if the world has come to an end!

But don't worry because there are ways to solve such a problem provided you are ready to look at it from a different angle and be more creative in dealing with it..

How to be more creative in solving the hard to solve problems? Here's how.

1. Look deeper into the problem. Try to understand it better so that you know how it works. Try to find the connection among the elements composing the problem. Identify what you are gaining and losing as the impact of the problem. Then only you'll be able to solve it because you have got the foundation of what the problem really is.

2. Identify all valid constraints and assumptions that prevent you from seeing possible solutions. If you cannot view the problem, definitely you won't be able to solve it.

3. Break the problem into parts so that it is much easier to solve. Start by solving the overall view part first and then the more detailed part. Do this by jotting down the simplest question and then the possible solution to it. Move to the next question - a harder one - and do the same until all questions are answered.

4. Apart from having a critical thinking in solving the problem, you must also be creative and analytical as well. Try and make any suggested solutions work by being creative.

5. Remember that there are many possible solutions to the problem. So study them carefully and find the one that suits you most. This way, the problem can be solved much easier.

6. Consult other people. Get their advice on how to solve the problem. As we all know, two heads are better than one. So confide to your spouse or friend or office mate. Who knows maybe they can come up with possible solutions that you did not even think of it. Remember that they too may have had the same problem you're having.

7. Persevere. If you're patient, eventually there is always a chance of finding a solution. Don't expect a miracle on your first attempt.

8. Think positive. By thinking positively you'll be able to accept the problem as something that is not as big and unsolved as it seems to be.

Finally, next time you are burdened with a problem you think you can't solve, think again.

Make Yourself Happy - How to Cheer Yourself Up

By Amry Deen

Why do we need to be happy? Being happy will make us healthy. It prevents us from feeling stressed or depressed. As we all know, stress and depression can cause chronic diseases like cancer and heart disease. It might also lead to death! To overcome this problem, you need to change. Even if you don't realize it, you actually have the ability to make the changes. By knowing this fact, we will feel relieved and less stressed.

To be happy we need people. We need to build good relationship with people around us. Since they are different from us, we tend to get into arguments with them. Avoid being entangled into this situation by being rational or simply by forgiving them for whatever bad things that they have done to us. If you cannot avoid the arguments, tell yourself that there must be a good side of it. It's not that hard to be happy; just choose to be happy!

Here are several ways to happiness.

1. Be grateful to other people. Always say thank you to each and everyone who does you something good. Thank your spouse for cooking dinner for

you, thank your neighbour for looking after your dog and also thank your garbage man for collecting your garbage.

2. Avoid starting your day by reading, listening or watching the news. Why? This is because most of the news is bad news.

3. If you are a believer in God, join a religious group. You'll get peace inside of you.

4. Manage your time. Set your goals, create things to do lists and do first thing first i.e. the most important thing first. After some time you'll have an organized life schedule which you'll enjoy.

5. Laugh a lot every day. Make jokes, listen to them and tell everybody about it so that they can laugh with you. As we all know, laughter is still the best medicine. But in doing so be careful not to hurt anybody's feeling.

6. Do not pen up your bad feelings. This will cause more harm than if you express them to people around you. You must not only show your anger, but you must also show your affections to them.

 7. Work hard in every good thing that you do. Accomplish every endeavour. Work until you succeed. Then only you'll find satisfaction that will make you happy.

8. Learn and learn and keep learning. By learning new things, our horizon will be broadening. This in turn will open up new opportunities for us.

9. Exercise. Go jogging or walking or do any other kinds of exercise that will make you feel alive. Join a health club or a gymnasium. By exercising, you'll not only become healthy but also happier.

10. Live in a happy and healthy neighbourhood.

Remember that you can be what you want to be provided you put some efforts into it.

365 Reasons to Be Cheerful: Magical Moments to Cheer Up Miserable Sods One Day at a Time

365 Reasons to Be Cheerful: Magical Moments to Cheer Up Miserable Sods One Day at a Time

What Makes You Special? - by Kunbi Korostensky N.D.

Many people are too busy today trying to fit themselves into the image of other people. This ranges from physical appearance to dressing mannerism right to extreme character imitations.

And although I can understand the underlying feelings of insecurity which trigger such actions, still it goes without saying that this 'unhealthy' habit can be detrimental to your one big asset: recognizing and developing your uniqueness.

Some people are either afraid to show who they really are, because they believe that other people are better than them. Or as a result of lack of inner consciousness, they are just not aware of their own special gifts.

First of all, there is nothing wrong with being who you are. In fact, the more you are willing to be yourself, the better is your chance of being authentic and special. Then no amount of any artistical imitation will ever make a strong indelible impact on other people or makes you feel better about yourself. It is better to be a first class 'you' than a third rate imitation of some celebrity. At least this way, you will be upholding the true spirit of individualism and helping along the course of evolution.

Secondly, regardless of how or what you may at present think of yourself, you are still special and that is what other people want to see and experience in you. Psycho-logically, people are more attracted to someone who is genuine. So don't try to be what you are not.

If you are still in doubt about what is special about you, start by asking yourself these 3 questions:

1.How do people react to me when I am with them?
2. When in a crowd, am l more interested in voicing my opinion or do I listen intently to others?
3. When decisions are made, do I accept to go along with the majority, or is upholding my values more important to me?

Each of these questions can prompt you to look deeper into yourself and recognise what you may be missing: your special abilities.

Your strength lies in your inherent abilities. For these are the gifts of the spirit, the real you.

Learn to know what your assets are and what makes you stand out from the crowd.

The best way to do this is to focus on what you know gives you passion, joy and deep satisfaction. I once had to give a friend some new perspectives about herself. She complained constantly about how people around her were getting along while she felt left behind. One day as I istened again to her lamentations, it suddenly dawned on me that she had been focusing on other peoples' lives instead of on her own.

I pointed this out to her and encouraged her to look into herself and her life. She was to find out what she could genuinely admire about herself and recognize as her inherent strength.

Well, it didn't take her long to turn the table. She decided that her life hadn't been such "a disaster" after all. In fact she came up with what made her to be such a great friend to have around. Her exceptional ability to remain calm and compose in the face of difficult situation.

Once you know what it is that makes you special, keep grooming it until it shines out in all its glory. Thus the saying "who you are speaks so loudly I can't hear what you're saying" becomes your true shield and emblem.

The Ultimate Secrets of Total Self-Confidence (Revised)

The Ultimate Secrets of Total Self-Confidence (Revised)

Think Positive!

Think positive if you want to be able to focus on your strengths and accomplishments. This will make you happier and more motivated and, in turn, allows you to spend more time making progress, and less time feeling depressed and stuck. The following are tips that you can use to help you think in more positive ways:

1.  Love yourself.
Eat well, do regular exercise and get enough rest.

2.  Remember all the things you are grateful for.
When you keep reminding yourself of the things that you do right in life, challenges and stresses will not seem quite as bad. It'll make a huge difference if you stop and appreciate the good things for a minute a day.

3.  Instead of making assumption, look for the proof.
Do not assume that we know what others are thinking just because we are afraid of not being liked or accepted, because such fear is not a reality in the first place. Speak up and ask if you feel that a friend or family member's bad mood is because of something you did. Unless you have proof that there is something to worry about, don't waste time worrying that you did something wrong.

4.  As far as possible do not use absolutes.
Refrain yourself from using absolutes such as 'always' and 'never' because they will make the situation seem worse than it really is. For example, never told your partner "You're always late!" or complained to a friend "You never call me". This will cause your brain to believe that your partner or friend is incapable of delivering.

5.  Avoid thinking negatively of anything.
If you don't judge your thoughts, they can't hold any power over you. Simply ignore the negative thoughts or detach from them and don't follow them.

6.  Get rid of the automatic negative thoughts.
Automatic negative thoughts are bad thoughts that are usually reactionary for examples "They are laughing; they must be talking about me," or "He wanted to see me, it must be bad!" You must kill these thoughts instantly because they are nothing more than automatic negative thoughts.

7.  Be nice and loving to your family and friends.
A good hug for example has a lot of benefits. Make positive physical contact with your loved ones, friends, and even pets. This will prevent you from thinking negatively of them.

8.  Socialize more.
Increase your social activity so that you will decrease loneliness. Get around and mingle with healthy, happy people; you will be affected in a positive way by their positive energy.

9.  Get involved in voluntary work or help other people.
Whether you volunteer your time, you resources, or your money, you will definitely feels better. You will receive more in return if you put out more positive energy into the world.

10.  Try changing your physical environment.
Sit outside or go for a walk, or call a friend, read a book or listen to music.

The Path to Success is Paved with Positive Thinking: How to Live a Joy-filled Life and Make Your Dreams Come True

Overcome Depression

While the term depression has been commonly used that people tend not to take it seriously anymore, it is a very serious condition that could impair one’s life. Depression is very difficult. It can debilitate one’s normal functions, making even the most mundane tasks such as getting up from bed or eating breakfast seemingly difficult. It is sad to think that a lot of depressed individuals are not treated because of the high costs of therapy. However, coping with depression is still possible without professional help if one knows depression management. Here are a few things that can help people deal with depression, it is important to note however, that professional therapy is still very invaluable with serious depression. These steps are just suggestions for alleviating the condition.

1.  Staying active
Staying active is one way to take one’s mind off depression. Primarily, activities help distract people from whatever it is that is causing their depression and it also helps channel unspent energies that build up when one is depressed. Keeping active also releases endorphins – natural mood boosters that somehow cheer people up.

2.  Take a rest.
It is also important to take a rest. Being depressed can be very exhausting, so it is essential to regain strength and energy if one is to deal with depression. Relaxation techniques can help one be more attuned to the self and be more at peace. When resting, stressors should be kept away from the bedroom so that ample rest can be obtained.

3.  Express your emotions
Depressed people should also express their emotions. Depression usually results from suppressed emotions. People who are grieving can be prone to depression if they keep their emotion to themselves. A lot of people avoid crying because they think it might be a sign of weakness. However, it is important to cry because it releases one’s emotions. When expressing feelings, it is important to avoid catharsis – venting up one’s anger by doing something violent like boxing, smashing things, and the like. Catharsis does not release one’s emotion, especially anger. Rather, it makes a person practice violence as an expression of emotion, and thus can be very dangerous.

4.  Hang around with friends and loved ones.
Depressed individuals need support very much. Other people can distract one from stressors. People can also remind a depressed individual that there can be more to life, and it is worth living even if it is simply because of the company of wonderful people.

5. Belief in oneself
Lastly, it is important to believe in oneself. A lot of people get depressed because they put themselves down. It is important to satisfy oneself and gain a sense of self-worth. It is good to do something that would make one happy. Prioritizing one’s self can help one to believe that one’s own life is important and can be enjoyed. Being kind to oneself is one of the most important steps to get away from a depressive state.

Depression management is possible and entails taking charge of one’s self. When dealing with depression however, it is important not to rush. Sadness does not disappear overnight; it takes time to get back on one’s feet. Little by little, one can get out of depression and have a normal life once more.

The Alphabet of Motivation

Pain may sometimes be the reason why people change. Getting flunked grades make us realize that we need to study. Debts remind us of our inability to look for a source of income. Being humiliated gives us the ‘push’ to speak up and fight for ourselves to save our face from the next embarrassments. It may be a bitter experience, a friend’s tragic story, a great movie, or an inspiring book that will help us get up and get just the right amount of motivation we need in order to improve ourselves.

With the countless negativities the world brings about, how do we keep motivated? Try on the tips I prepared from A to Z…

A - Achieve your dreams. Avoid negative people, things and places. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

B - Believe in your self, and in what you can do.

C – Consider things on every angle and aspect. Motivation comes from determination. To be able to understand life, you should feel the sun from both sides.

D – Don’t give up and don’t give in. Thomas Edison failed once, twice, more than thrice before he came up with his invention and perfected the incandescent light bulb. Make motivation as your steering wheel.

E – Enjoy. Work as if you don’t need money. Dance as if nobody’s watching. Love as if you never cried. Learn as if you’ll live forever. Motivation takes place when people are happy.

F – Family and Friends – are life’s greatest ‘F’ treasures. Don’t loose sight of them.

G – Give more than what is enough. Where does motivation and self improvement take place at work? At home? At school? When you exert extra effort in doing things.

H – Hang on to your dreams. They may dangle in there for a moment, but these little stars will be your driving force.

I – Ignore those who try to destroy you. Don’t let other people to get the best of you. Stay out of toxic people – the kind of friends who hates to hear about your success.

J – Just be yourself. The key to success is to be yourself. And the key to failure is to try to please everyone.

K – keep trying no matter how hard life may seem. When a person is motivated, eventually he sees a harsh life finally clearing out, paving the way to self improvement.
L – Learn to love your self. Now isn’t that easy?

M – Make things happen. Motivation is when your dreams are put into work clothes.

N – Never lie, cheat or steal. Always play a fair game.

O – Open your eyes. People should learn the horse attitude and horse sense. They see things in 2 ways – how they want things to be, and how they should be.

P – Practice makes perfect. Practice is about motivation. It lets us learn repertoire and ways on how can we recover from our mistakes.

Q – Quitters never win. And winners never quit. So, choose your fate – are you going to be a quitter? Or a winner?

R – Ready yourself. Motivation is also about preparation. We must hear the little voice within us telling us to get started before others will get on their feet and try to push us around. Remember, it wasn’t raining when Noah build the ark.

S – Stop procrastinating.

T – Take control of your life. Discipline or self control jives synonymously with motivation. Both are key factors in self improvement.

U – Understand others. If you know very well how to talk, you should also learn how to listen. Yearn to understand first, and to be understood the second.

V – Visualize it. Motivation without vision is like a boat on a dry land.

W – Want it more than anything. Dreaming means believing. And to believe is something that is rooted out from the roots of motivation and self improvement.

X – X Factor is what will make you different from the others. When you are motivated, you tend to put on “extras” on your life like extra time for family, extra help at work, extra care for friends, and so on.

Y – You are unique. No one in this world looks, acts, or talks like you. Value your life and existence, because you’re just going to spend it once.

Z – Zero in on your dreams and go for it!!!
